The 17th Dubai International Boat Show was opened by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum on 3rd March, 2009. The event, which took place at the Dubai International Marine Club - Mina Seyahi was the largest to date of its kind, with more boats, more exhibitors and more international presence than ever. Despite trouble waters in the world's economy, this show was very much afloat with more than 721 companies from 50 countries participating.

Yachting Pages took to the water with the USSA on their canal barge cruise at METS, on Tuesday 18th November.Around 70 participants boarded two vessels to cruise Amsterdam’s famous canals and sights. Yachting Pages’ stand was transformed into a cocktail bar at FLIBS this year! Exhibitors and visitors were invited to partake of a ‘Blue Martini’ or ‘Sea Breeze’, and the stand drew a small crowd each evening of the show. The Blue and Red cocktails were in keeping with the US Election campaign, which was coming to its finale. (The Blue Martini seemed to be a favourite amongst the men!)

A huge thanks to all at National Marine Suppliers for another fantastic party. The Bizarre-B-Q Biker Bash, held on Saturday 1st November, during FLIBS was a roaring success, yet again. The place was packed as guests took their lives in their hands when climbing aboard ‘Harley’ – The mechanical bull. All guests, whether VIP or otherwise enjoyed a huge choice of great food and The Red Elvises Live managed to get the dance floor thumping.
