Teak yacht decking

Ocean Refit designs and fabricates teak decking from its workshops near Palma de Mallorca, using portable measuring devices for accuracy. This allows it to showcase clients with the various options for style, design and finish.

It has recently installed one of the largest custom-made CNC machines in Europe, enabling the production of individual panels up to 12 metres (39 feet) long. The panels can then be taken to the yacht for rapid installation with modern vacuum pressing technology, or transported to further, long-distance destinations (Ocean Refit has regular contracts in mainland Spain, the UK, and Sweden).

The CNC machine also allows for the production of plywood templates. A recent order for templates included the whole deck of two world-renowned 120m (393ft) superyachts.

In terms of materials, Ocean Refit provides sustainable alternatives to traditional forest grown teak, such as Greenteak® from Thailand, or high quality plantation-grown teak up to FSC® standards.

Alternatively, if there's still some life left in an existing yacht deck, Ocean Refit offers a specialised re-caulk and refurbishment service, and can travel vessels anywhere in Europe.

From cabinet alterations and bespoke furniture through to complete cabin refits, Ocean Refit specialises in bespoke interior yacht carpentry and joinery for superyachts.

It offers in-house design and build services, specialising in modern materials such as Corian, HI-MACS, Perspex and STAR-board. These are always in stock or quickly procured, and it has a large stock of select veneers and solid timber to ensure most projects can be tackled with the minimum fuss and lead-time.

Replacement headlining panels, either soft-lined or painted can be made quickly and cost-effectively, and vinyl flooring is available from Amtico or Armstrong.
