1,500 visitors attend Antibes Celebrates Yachting 2015

Nearly 1,500 visitors attended the brand new Antibes Celebrates Yachting event, which took place at the Bastion St Jaume in Port Vauban, Antibes on 24th and 25th April 2015.

Reports from the show indicated captains, crew and other visitors came not only from Antibes and the French Riviera but from Spain (particularly Palma), the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and even the United States.

The event welcomed 54 companies, which included crew-focused businesses such as recruitment, training, insurance and communications, as well as others comprising of brokers, manufacturers, marinas and security companies.

According to show organisers, “Through the establishment of a networking space for people involved in yachting, the quality of exchanges was much better and more productive. Contracts were signed on the spot, promises of sale and quotes are in progress.

“The 12 seminars which were held throughout these two days were informative for everyone. Whether it was about the regulations of the activity, or some current theme such as piracy on board; the diversity of subjects talked about allowed many visitors to learn and be advised by experts.”

The show also reported that the brokers of the fifteen yachts participating (20 to 47 metres) were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the visits they received on board either by buyers or potential charterers.

The show also hosted a range of workshops and seminars some of which consisted of how to trigger a life raft or lessons in how to perform CPR massage. Organisers commented that the most popular events were those that offered food tastings; these included oysters, pata negra ham, cookies, fresh fruit, ice cream and sorbet, macaroons, champagnes and more.
