17m Sundeck 550 beached during Cannes Yachting Festival

Images of a Sundeck 550 yacht beached in Cannes in front of Baoli Beach surfaced on social media on Saturday evening, during the Cannes Yachting Festival..

Whereas it is still unclear what caused the 17.35-meter yacht, presented at the Cannes Yachting Festival by Sundeck Yachts, to beach, it is known that no one was hurt and that no pollution was reported.

Powered by twin engines of 570hp each, the Sundeck 550, named Lancelot, has a reach of 2,000 nautical miles and a cruising speed of 17 knots with a maximum speed of 26 knots. At a beam of five metres, she is the smallest of three versions developed by the Italian shipyard as part of their trawler series.

Stretching over five days, the Cannes Yachting Festival took place between the 12th and 17th September, attracting over 500 exhibitors and tens of thousands of visitors to The Vieux Port and The Port Pierre Canto.
