In the realm of maritime luxury, the quest to offer yacht charter guests the perfect night's sleep has become an art form, one which luxury bed and linen supplier, CC Design, has fully committed to.
Footage surfaced yesterday on social media of 35m superyacht, M/Y Moon on fire in the Al Hamra Marina in Ras Al Khamiah, just outside of Dubai, U.A.E.
The cause of the fire remains unknown as yet, but videos show a large part of the yacht’s sundeck and upper deck engulfed in flames, with thick smoke filling the interior areas.
According to reports from Yachtharbour.com, early photographs of the incident show that the fire may have started out near the bridge, but nothing has yet been confirmed.
Once the fire broke out, fire fighters began attempting to put out the flames while the yacht was moored in the marina, before she was eventually dragged out of the marina in order to prevent the fire from spreading to other yachts.
The extent of the damage is still unknown, but footage shows the fire spreading throughout the boat, which has a wooden hull and superstructure. She was built in 2000 by Turkish shipyard, Eser Yat with a beam of 7.5m and a top speed of 24 knots.
Footage of the incident captured by Mikey Anthonisz can be seen on YouTube.
