Tecnoyachts, the Riviera-based yacht supply, is taking part in a gruelling endurance event in aid of the charity Cogs4Cancer.
From 20-23 October 2016, Alain Minault of Tecnoyachts will be running in the 24th Grand Raid de la Réunion endurance race. This non-stop race is unique and renowned to ultra-endurance runners as one of the most challenging courses in the world.
The race, (also known as the Madmen’s diagonal), crisscrosses Reunion Island from South to North and is much more than a simple mountain trail, as it is 167km long and has an uphill gradient of 10,000 metres.
Alain Minault of Tecnoyachts commented, “I’m under no illusions that this will not be hard work but the cause is something very close to me, with all my sponsorship money going to the Cogs4Cancer charity, organised by Ben Young, head of SuperYacht Management in Golfe Juan. Last year Ben got me to dip my toe in the water by taking part in just the final, St Tropez stage of the Barcelona to Antibes Cogs4Cancer cycle ride but this time I’m putting much more effort in.”
To sponsor Alain an amount of your choosing or €1 per kilometer of the course (total €167), please visit the JustGiving page here. You can also follow Alain’s progress on the website: www.grandraid-reunion.com. He will be sporting jersey n° 1806.
