Dutch shipyard, Amels has announced that it is hosting an open day at its Vlissingen facility in November, to allow yacht enthusiasts and those interested in a career in yacht building a glimpse inside the superyacht industry.
On Saturday 7th November 2015, as part of the Dutch ‘Maritime Week’, Amels will open its gates to visitors for a behind the scenes look at its superyacht production facility. During the tours, the shipyard team will be on hand to explain the design and construction process, and to answer questions.
Amels, the shipbuilder behind recent launches such as Madame Kate, La Familia and Serenity J, is working together with sub-contractors Damen, and a further range of yacht builders who will be present at the yard, including Alewijnse, Heinan & Hopman and Mammoet, in order to inform and educate attendees.
Individuals from local technical institutes, as well as high school pupils from the local region have been invited to attend the yard between 10:00am and 4:00pm in the hope that the event will promote the industry within the local community.
