Are 279 lives worth €25,000?

The Societe Nationale de Sauvetage en Mer (SNSM) lifeboats on the Cote d'Azur depend 100% on voluntary contributions and yet this year the Antibes lifeboat is €25,000 short of what it costs to run.

Last year the SNSM lifeboats were called out 300 times saving 279 lives!

This is made even more shocking when you consider it being based in one of the richest ports in France (by value of the tonnage berthed within it).
This is an opportunity for us all to do something about it!

The Riviera International Singers are putting on a Christmas Carol concert in aid of the lifeboat in the Antibes Cathedral this Friday 6th December 2013. Entry is €10 adults, €5 children. Doors open 18:30. Tickets on sale at the front door or at Bluewater.

If in the Antibes area, please come and help keep the lifeboat running in Antibes - one day you may be very glad you did!

Come and hear the concert and sing some carols; mulled wine and freshly made British sausages will be served afterwards. Theis will be the real start of Christmas on the Riviera!
