ASAP (Association for the Support of the Activities) in Antibes

Despite the crisis and economic uncertainties recorded since 2008 the demand for berths in marinas is growing again. For ten years, the fleet of super yachts has grown considerably in size, far exceeding the number of places available in the Mediterranean.

A general observation shows that there are not enough free slots on applications while paradoxically a number of places remain empty.

Despite the preference of a base such as Antibes in the winter, many boats are subtracted to other destinations in order to minimize costs. Marinas in Spain, Italy, Croatia, Tunisia or Cyprus benefit from the saturation of the Côte d'Azur to develop new and bigger sites in size.

In comparison to these new places who exhibit their high quality services at international boat shows or on their websites, the Port of Antibes no longer appears in the race in many ways and should review quickly its offer.

People gathered, hoping to create some concrete actions and encourage the development of solutions for Antibes and the yachting industry directly affected by this major project creating: the ASAP – ‘Association for the Support of the Activities’

It was created in November 2011 in order to bring knowledge to its members - professionals and individuals - to the competent authorities in regards to the development project of the port of Antibes.

Given the lack of clear information and answers to many questions related to the development of the port, the lack of consultation with marine professionals in Antibes, this is a huge step in building communication and one day get the port of Antibes back in the race again.
