Asia Pacific Superyachts teams up with Royal Langkawi Yacht Club

In a recent office move, Asia Pacific Superyachts has announced that it is now the agent for yachts over 30m for the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club (RLYC). Situated on Langkawi Island, the office is part of the RLYC, which has recently undergone a huge renovation and expansion of its marina.

Upgrading from a 200 to a 250-berth marina, there are now six berths to accommodate superyachts at RLYC, including four berths for 60-70m superyachts, and two berths for 80-90m superyachts. The berths are fitted with power pedestals of 400Amps for the 80m berths and 250Amps for the 60m berths.

According to the brand, the Club & Marina was designed and built to blend into the natural coast line and landscape of the island. The brand also stated that since its opening in 1996, the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club has positioned itself at the forefront of boating in Malaysia, growing with the island’s development to become the heart of sailing and yachting on Peninsular Malaysia’s North West coast.

Wicky Sumdran, executive director at the RLYC said, “RLYC is pleased to have Asia Pacific Superyachts’ presence on Langkawi, and in particular at the Club with our newly expanded and upgraded facilities. APS, with its extensive networking and professionalism in handling superyacht services, will provide the best services and facilities to visiting superyachts to Langkawi.”

Charlie Dwyer, Captain of APS Langkawi GM added, “We are thrilled to be part of the new Royal Langkawi Yacht Club & Marina, moving our Asia Pacific Superyachts (APS) offices smack into the middle of the newly renovated RLYC, where we will continue to work with arriving superyachts.

“We are working with the shipyard for yachts over 30m, bringing superyacht needs full circle in Langkawi and providing excellent refit services and facilities with great value for cost.”
