P&W Marine Engineers was last week awarded Winners of the 2012 Small–Medium Employer of the Year (50 employees and under) in Australia’s annual Manufacturing Skills Queensland awards.
The company is a member of the Australian International Marine Export Group (AIMEX) which is the peak body for the Australian Marine Export Industry. AIMEX generates more than 1.2bn for the Australian economy each year.
All judged finalists were invited by Manufacturing Skills Queensland, a division of QMI Solutions Ltd, its annual awards night on Friday 18 May 2012 in Brisbane.
The night brought together representatives of industry, government, academia and training organisations to recognise the marine industry’s achievers.
P&W’s Managing Director, Ross Cameron collected the prize: “P & W Marine Engineers are honoured to have received this award. This is a great achievement as they were up against many worthy competitors, including those from the resources and mining industries.”
P&W Marine Engineers has been in operation since 1978. Its business reputation in national and international marine markets has continually grown ever since, and P&W is today Australia’s largest manufacturer of complete underwater propulsion systems.
The firm’s propulsion systems, engine manufacturing and marine services benefit the superyacht industry throughout Australia, South-East Asia and North America.
