Italian yard Baglietto has announced that it has taken a new order for a 40-metre (131-foot) fast displacement yacht. This new custom design will be built in La Spezia from aluminium and delivered to an American client, although the yard has not disclosed a target launch date.
Exterior styling comes courtesy of Horacio Bozzo, with Baglietto describing the yacht’s profile as “sporty and elegant”. For the interior décor, London-based design architect Achille Salvagni will take the reigns. Both designers are working with Baglietto for the first time.
Although the order was placed in early 2018, it was the culmination of a particularly successful 2017 for the yard. Michele Gavino, CEO of Baglietto, explained, “Following the signature of a contract for a 54-metre yacht last summer, this is the second fully custom project we have secured.
“To build these new yachts, we have developed two platforms capable of meeting the requirements and performance expected by our clients, this bears witness, once more, to our shipyard’s will to keep pursuing technical innovation and developing our naval engineering capabilities.”
Further details on the specifications of the new build are unknown at this stage, with Baglietto choosing to keep accommodation, engine installation and estimated performance information under wraps for the time being.
Other superyacht projects currently under development at the Italian yard include the second T-Line 48m (157ft) yacht, a 55m (180ft) T-Line yacht and a 43m (141ft) fast planing yacht, while designs on the drawing board range from 38 to 62 metres (125ft to 204ft).
