Benetti launches fully custom 63m superyacht

Italian superyacht shipyard Benetti has launched Metis, its new fully custom 63-metre (207-foot) vessel, ahead of delivery to a German owner. She met the waters at Benetti’s Livorno facilities.

The steel-hulled yacht has an aluminium superstructure and exterior lines by Benetti and Giogio M. Cassetta Design. She boasts five spacious decks, and features design from studio Bannenburg & Rowell.

Metis has accommodation for up to 12 guests, with an upper-deck master’s apartment stretching across 162 square metres. In addition to breathtaking views, the owners will be able to make use of twin bathrooms, walk-in wardrobes, a day area with seating and television and an outdoor terrace with touch-and-go helipad. Additional accommodation includes a twin cabin and adjacent nanny suite.

Entertainment options aboard Metis are plentiful, with luxurious living spaces including a lower-deck beach club, roomy main saloon and custom-designed sundeck gym. Interior décor has been conjured in conjunction with renowned German designer Birgit Otte, who assisted in creating the final combination of bleached oak, leather and carbon fibre.

The owner, introduced to the firm by project management company Yacht Moments, said of the yard, “Benetti has confirmed its international yacht building reputation for excellence in quality and reliability. The shipyard has successfully interpreted my desires and needs to perfection. I am particularly satisfied with the unique owner’s cabin, which represents the perfect example of customisation and excellence.”

The yacht features quarters for up to 12 crew members, and features twin MTU 12V4000M53 engines for a top speed of up to 16 knots. At 12 knots Metis will be able to travel up to 5,000 nautical miles.

This announcement comes shortly after Benetti’s delivery of Spectre, John and Jeanette Staluppi’s ninth James Bond-themed superyacht.
