German shipyard Blohm+Voss has recently announced that Joris Neven has been appointed director of sales for its megayacht division. Neven accepted the role on February 1st, and has over 20 years’ experience in the industry at several brands, including Piriou and Damen Shipyards.
Fred van Beers took the position of CEO in January 2015, and together with Star Capital Partners, released details of an aggressive investment plan for Blohm+Voss in June last year. This was to ensure that the firm is optimised and efficient in meeting the diverse needs of the marine markets in which it does business. Key developments included additional investment in the BV80 project, expansion of the sales team, and development of a dedicated superyacht division.
Van Beers, commented on the plans, “We have already made significant progress in all of these areas. In particular, I am delighted to announce the appointment of Joris Neven as Director of Sales, Mega Yachts.”
Blohm+Voss is also working to establish a permanent base in Monaco, where operations will be overseen by Patrick Coote, managing director, whilst he works jointly with Joris Neven in Hamburg to facilitate future growth.
