Build begins on Turkey’s largest superyacht

Bilgin Yachts has announced that build has begun on Turkey’s largest superyacht, the 80m Bilgin 263.

Having begun construction in March as the third order of a repeat client, the 263 now has seven of its 25 steel hull blocks completed, and is estimated to be ready in 2019. She has exterior design and naval architecture by Unique Yacht Design, with engineering by Özgün Yacht Design.

The 263 features multiple areas for outdoor entertainment, and a large foredeck lounge complete with dining area and settees. Forward of the pilothouse is another lounge with spa tub.

Her interior, designed by H2 Yacht Design, will feature eight staterooms with accommodation for up to 12 guests and 24 crew.

Her predicted top speed is 17 knots, with a top range of 6000+ nm when cruising at 11 knots. She is also nearly double the size of Bilgin’s current project - the Bilgin 48.

When describing the Bilgin 263, the Turkish shipyard commented, “Not only does this superyacht meet the exacting performance standards of the luxury industry, but [she] sets the bar for Turkey’s growing high-end yacht sector.”
