Burger Boat Company launches first steel-hulled motor yacht in over 50 years

Wisconsin-based shipyard Burger Boat Company has revealed its new 32m Burger explorer superyacht, Northland.

Previously known as Project 510, her design work came from Miami-based Luiz de Basto. She is finished with an aluminium superstructure and is built to incorporate unique features that match the owner’s passion for fishing. Tailored features include a full fishing station within the aft cockpit.

The vessel can cruise at a range of 4,000nm for days of deep-water action, and measures around 270GT.

Luiz de Basto also designed Northland’s interior, which has been described as “contemporary” by the shipyard.

Jim Ruffolo, president and chief executive officer of Burger Boat Company, commented, “The Northland is a prime example of Burger’s fine craftsmanship and dedication to working with our customers to build one-of-a-kind vessels.

“She is not only designed for the durability and range needed for a global expedition, but also for style and luxury.”
