Cantieri di Pisa has announced the sale of its first Akhir 42S superyacht to a Japanese client, after they arrived at the shipyard enquiring about a new-build project.
The Akhir 42S will offer a sky lounge, rather than a sun deck.
She also offers a full-length saloon providing more privacy for the owner and guests.
Now set to enter construction at the Italian shipyard, the Akhir 42S marks the first of the next generation of yachts by Cantieri di Pisa following its acquisition by Mondomarine in 2015; she features a sleek, contemporary profile that stands apart from the yard’s past designs.
Designed by Luca Dini, the Akhir 42S is an aluminium semi-displacement yacht that blends together the successful design elements of Cantieri di Pisa’s previous models. Influenced by the aviation and automotive industries, she features smoked glass-band windows that characterise her external lines, as well as a shark-nose bow with roll bar, creating a shaded area at the front of the vessel.
The 42S also features a full-length saloon and sky lounge rather than a sun deck, providing more privacy for the owner – a first for a Cantieri di Pisa yacht.
She has a full-beam owner’s cabin set in the bow of the main deck, with her galley at the heart of the lower deck. She also features a beach club with folding transom door that rotates to create a balcony on the sea.
The Akhir 42S is scheduled for delivery in Spring 2018.
