Dalton Designs goes global

This multi-award winning design firm is legendary for luxury homes and yachts. Now Liz Dalton, founder of Dalton Designs, has taken off into air craft interiors.

“This is the final connection”, enthuses Liz Dalton, when asked about the project. “For the past 30 years we have built our business in yacht and residential interior design, but wanted to accommodate ALL of our clients’ needs and become a one-stop shop”. This expansion is both crucial and exciting to make this goal a reality.

Ms. Dalton began working on the Global Express in November of 2011 for an international client and now a year later it is ready for the runway. Aircrafts have special FAA requirements that are completely different from marine requirements. It is very rare for a design firm to be able to accommodate such diverse industries. However, it is a great fit for a versatile design firm like Dalton Designs, who is accustomed to working with luxury clients.

The Global Express is the largest, noncommercial private jet that is manufactured by Bombardier. This long range aircraft seats 17-19 passengers and has a contemporary, business-like interior. It is privately owned. Both the owner and designer envisioned a sleek, clean look with custom detail work “…but my favorite feature would have to be the work station conference area, which had originally been a bank of drawers” states Ms. Dalton.

However, the excitement does not end here. Amongst many other interesting projects, Dalton Designs, is going into 2013 with two yachts that are hot on the sport fishing line. “Marlena” (Jim Smith) and “SarahBeth” (Burger) refit are both 105’ beauties.
