Hollywood icon Dita Von Teese is the first celebrity visitor of the new Regent Porto Montenegro Hotel and Residences, the Mediterranean’s leading luxury yacht homeport and marina village, which opened on 1st August. The ‘Queen of Burlesque’ attended the auction of her portrait by Milena Zevu, a famous multimedia artist from Belgrade. Organised by exclusive event agency The Duke, the ‘Royal Cocktail’ auction was held in The Library Bar of Regent Porto Montenegro on 2nd August.
The portrait, made from over 13,000 Swarovski crystals was sold on auction with a third of proceeds directly donated to Foundation Petrovic – Njegos, a charity in Montenegro which helps to promote and preserve the country’s identity, culture and tradition.
During the auction, guests were invited to meet the star, who was delighted to be amongst one of the first guests of the new hotel. Dita Von Teese commented, “I am thrilled to be here and that the auction has generated funds and awareness for this worthy cause. It is my first visit to Montenegro and I’m really looking forward to exploring the Boka Bay over the next few days.”
Milena’s piece is one-of-a-kind and homage to Tamara Lempicki, an art deco artist from the 1930s who produced ‘Tamara in Green Bugatti’. The artist Milena Zevu stated, “After I met Dita in Paris, I was taken by her one-of-a-kind personality, style and self-confidence and wanted to portray this in her portrait. Dita is a unique person in an age when many people strive to be someone else. It is a great pleasure to be a part of such an event in the new Regent Porto Montenegro which represents an exciting time for the hospitality industry in Montenegro and across the region.”
