Dometic Livos at Mets for the first time

Following the October 2013 acquisition of engine room ventilation company Livos Technologies Inc, Dometic Marine will be showing the Dometic Livos Custom 2-Stage Mist-Eliminating Grille at METS 2013. A unit will be on display on each Dometic location – stand 01.615 in Hall 1 and stand 10.514 in the Superyacht Pavilion.

Salt mist shortens the life span of any diesel engine so keeping as much salt water and spray as possible out of the engine room will extend the life of the engine and lower warranty claims significantly. Dometic Livos mist eliminators are designed to stop mist and water from entering the engine room. Each mist eliminator is custom designed for maximum air flow and minimum restriction for a given machinery package.

The latest 2-Stage Mist Eliminator has been developed specifically for the superyacht and luxury OEM yacht market incorporating a decorative grille in the same frame as the mist eliminator to make an otherwise unsightly mist eliminator look appropriate for any superyacht or OEM pleasure boat.

The 2-Stage Mist Eliminator is a single, complete product installation and can be custom made in asymmetrical shapes to suit the yacht design. Customization is available for several aspects of the product - the finish can match the vessel’s paint scheme and different drainage options are available to suit the yacht requirements such as face drain, sump drain, or bottom drain configurations.

Dometic Livos engineers and designers have developed the 2-Stage Mist Eliminator to be an effective addition to engine room efficiency, keeping air flows and dimensional restrictions in mind while maintaining the sleek looks of the yacht.

Michael Murray, the founder of Livos, joins Dometic and will be responsible for integrating the original Livos product range into Dometic installations and systems. Over the coming months new engine ventilation products will be introduced to the market under the Dometic Livos name.

Julien Lefeuvre, head of marine OEM – EMEA, Dometic, outlined the benefits of the new product range to Dometic’s global OEM customers. He said: “Over recent years we have been collaborating with Livos Technologies on several HVAC system installations. Their engine room ventilation products are an ideal complement to our own HVAC solutions as they are technically advanced, robust and can be adapted to suit the most demanding requirements. Having an extended product portfolio going into 2014 will create exciting opportunities for us in the leisure and commercial vessel market.”

The Dometic Livos range includes the following product groups:

  • Commercial Grade Fans and Blowers.
  • Smoke and Fire Dampers.
  • Mist-Eliminating Grilles.
  • Pressure and Temperature Monitoring Fan Controls.
