Dometic Marine, a division of Dometic Group, has signed an exclusive worldwide marketing agreement with US company Spot Zero Reverse Osmosis Inc of Fort Lauderdale.
Under this agreement, Dometic will market and sell Spot Zero’s watermakers, which includes the recently introduced Dometic Sea Xchange Sea Water Reverse Osmosis system.
The Dometic Sea Xchange uses a conventional reverse osmosis process to convert seawater into drinking water and is perfect for long voyages or when travelling to destinations without reliable water supplies. It features a compact design, high-quality components and a user-friendly interface.
The watermaker system comes in four models - the SX600, with a daily capacity of 600 gallons/2,726 litres, the SX1200 (1,200 gallons/5,455 litres a day), the SX1800 (1,800 gallons/8,182 litres a day) and the SX2200 (2,200 gallons/10,000 litres a day).
Each unit is 47cm x 122cm x 61cm. Weight ranges from 65 kg for the lowest-capacity SX600 unit to 80 kg for the highest-capacity SX2200 unit.
The water can also be used for making ice, cooking, cleaning and bathing.
Kester Petersson, head of business development at Dometic Marine said, “The addition of quality, reliable watermakers to our product offering allows our customers to operate their vessels more efficiently as there is no need to carry heavy, fresh water supplies. Less weight means less fuel consumption, and the ability to create safe, fresh drinking water as and when required allows leisure boaters to take longer trips.”
Julien Lefeuvre, head of marine OEM at Dometic Marine said, “Spot Zero’s reverse osmosis systems are robust, quality products and we are delighted to be adding their range of fresh and seawater systems to the Dometic range of innovative products and installations.”
