Drettmann Yachts to present new explorer yacht at Dusseldorf Boat Show

German yacht builder Drettmann Yachts will unveil its new 24m DEY24 motor yacht at the Dusseldorf Boat Show, which is due to take place from 23rd to 31st January.

Developed by Claudia and Albert Drettmann, the 175-ton yacht offers a host of technical features, including a diesel-electric POD drive system, which Drettman Yachts claims makes the yacht is easier to manoeuvre, more economical and manages the use of space more efficiently. Claudia Drettman commented, “The new drive system is based on tried-and-tested technology, but this is the first time that it has been used in a yacht of this class anywhere in the world.

“This makes sailing much more fun, makes the vessel perfectly easy to steer, reduces maintenance and optimises energy utilisation. This is just one of the many new features we are proud of.”

Other features include a beach club with sauna and lounge area. According to a statement by Drettman, the DEY24 ‘is the outcome of decades of experience and a passion for yachts that the Drettmans have proved time and time again over the years.’

When mentioning the interior design, Drettman wrote, ‘When it comes to the interior design, the focus is on stylish variety. A true feast for the eyes: not only beautiful, but functional and comfortable in every single detail, regardless of whether you prefer traditional or modern furnishings.’
