DYT Yacht Transport ship 39 luxury yachts ready for the Med season

DYT Yacht Transport (DYT) has recently filled the decks of its 556 ft Super Servant 4 and 686 ft Yacht Express semi-submersible ships, with 39 luxury yachts worth approximately 350 million dollars.

The double shipment set sail on the 22^nd May and is not yet due to dock in Genoa and Taranto, Italy and Palma de Mallorca, Spain, until the second week in June.

DYT commented, “April through to June is the prime time for yachts to take the journey across the pond in order to reach the Mediterranean’s cruising grounds in time for peak season there.”

This latest haul used “semi-submersible” ships, engineered for yacht transport. The carriers partly submerge to enable yacht captains to dock their vessels on board. After ballast is removed and the carriers float higher, the yachts are secured into supports for their journey, working in a “floating dry-dock” type manner.
