Early bird bookings closing soon for Quaynote Palma Superyacht Conferences

Early bird bookings for the Quaynote Superyacht Conference and business networking events in Palma de Mallorca are to close soon, with discounted tickets available until the end of this month. 

Running alongside the third annual Palma Superyacht Show, and the 32nd Boatshow Palma, the Quaynote Conferences take place at the Melia Palace Atenea Hotel in Palma at the end of the April, with the last day for early bird ticket sales announced as the 31st March. 

The conferences have called the island of Mallorca home for the last nine years having first run their annual ‘Future of Superyachts’ forums there in 2007.

The organisers have announced a full and varied agenda for this year’s edition, with a high level of support from many well-known speakers, technical panel members and supporting sponsors from the global superyacht industry.

The ‘Future of Refit & Repair’ conference will open the event on Thursday 30th April 2015 with a speech from Antonio Duedero, the director general of Balearic Port & Airports, closely followed by a keynote speech from Rob Papworth, chairman of ICOMIA Superyacht Refit Group with his recent findings in business development within the refit market.

Day one will also see sessions on commercial refit contracts, project management, coatings application and interior design and materials. Alongside, there will be a of course be a collection of specialist companies exhibiting their products and services during the refreshment breaks. 

Day two sees the subject matter turn to ‘The Future for Captains & Crew’ to be chaired by Norma Trease, a director of Salmanca’s Marine’s Port Vell Barcelona superyacht marina. The day will go on to cover tops such as developing a career path, personal finances for crew, MLC compliance issues, duty of car on board and chartering destinations and regulation. 

The event will also see socialising and network opportunities with a cocktail party at the close of day one, sponsored by Jotun Paints Iberia, and an organised trip to Port Adriano Superyacht Marina for complimentary cocktails at the close of the second day on 1st May.

Limited opportunities for a third and final day have been announced with bookings being taken for a friendly round of golf at the Son Gual Golf Club just outside of Palma on Saturday 2nd May. Those who are new to the game will be able to take part in a three-hour gold clinic with top teaching from professionals.
