Feadship launches 47m modern-classic Project 697

Over the weekend (21st - 22nd October), Feadship launched its highly secretive 47m motor yacht, Project 697.

The vessel was built for an owner keen to infuse the classic era of Feadship with all the latest cutting-edge technologies and facilities. According to the Dutch yard, “She marries a striking midnight blue hull with a sophisticated superstructure in matterhorn white aluminium and exterior teak woodwork with stainless steel details.”

Feadship has confirmed De Voogt Naval Architects created the exterior design. It has so far yet to disclose who designed the interior, but commented, “The traditional design is enriched by the interior architect, who added several subtle contemporary touches such as large windows and bright, open spaces.”

Project 697 features a walk-around deckhouse and elegant curved gunwhales, while there are numerous al fresco options with exterior seating on the main deck, upper deck and sundeck. Details about the interior and total accommodation are currently at a premium, though it is understood it is powered by two 1,450hp MTU 12V200 M72 diesel engines.

Other superyacht projects currently under development at Feadship include the 69m M/Y Samaya, which is due for delivery before the end of 2017.
