Feadship has announced the delivery of 70m superyacht Joy to her new owner, Feadship’s youngest customer to date.
Launched last month at Feadship’s Kaag yard, the owner explained the inspiration behind the name, commenting, “It reminded me of how much joy this explorer felt when he first saw land. Today is my moment of joy.”
Feadship worked with long-time partners Bannenberg & Rowell to design Joy’s exterior. Dickie Bannenberg said, “Joy is the first visible exterior design of a new era for us. The wealth of concave shapes in the superstructure and judicious use of surface texturing have given Joy a design language and identity all her own.”
A standout feature on board Joy is her beach club, able to be accessed via swivelling transom doors or aft deck bomber doors. She also features over 250 different finishes and materials on board.
Her interior design was completed by Studio Indigo; creative director Mike Fisher commented, “Our team was inspired by the sleek profile to create a natural flow between the interior and exterior spaces.”
Director of Feadship Jan-Bart Verkuyl also added, “Joy is a testimony to what can be achieved when you genuinely start a superyacht build with a blank sheet of paper.”
