This week at the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS), the Ferretti Group chose to reveal a series of larger superyacht designs under their Pershing and Riva brands. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Pershing has added a 140ft design to its existing range, with Riva also introducing a 50m design to their new ‘Superyacht Division’, which was first announced at MYS 2014.
The Pershing 140, built in a light alloy, will take over the Pershing 115 series, which, with 10 hulls constructed, was the largest model in the Pershing Line.
Designed in collaboration with the Officiana Italiana Design studio, Riva’s new Superyacht Division will focus on two separate lines of superyachts: One of traditional and classic designs, and one of contemporary sport models, targeted at the performance market, drawing inspiration from the brand’s coupe range of yachts, such as the Domino 88’ model. Both lines will be available in 50m, 60m, 70m and 90m models.
Mauro Micheli, co-founder of Officina Italiana Design commented, “We enthusiastically took on the challenge of creating a new Riva superyacht line which will allow us to prove once more that Italian yacht design can compete on an equal standing with the large North-European shipyards, in terms of both quality and product exclusiveness.”
