First Amels 188 Limited Editions series sold by SYM Superyacht Management

The first Amels 188 has been sold by SYM Superyacht Management. First introduced at the 2015 Monaco Yacht Show, the 57.7m displacement yacht is the first hull in the Dutch Yard’s Limited Editions 188 series. Currently in the final stages of the build, the vessel is due to launch in the summer of 2018 in Vlissingen.

Dubbed “YN18801”, this is the first vessel built by Amels that meets the new IMO Tier III regulations. Following the fast-selling 180 series, the 188 series features hybrid electrical power coming in at 970GT. The 188 also features an optional helipad and an elevator between all decks, setting it apart from previous Limited Editions series.

The exteriors were styled by Tim Heywood, to a timeless and elegant design. Interiors were taken care of by Pascale Reymond and Andrew Langton, who ensured an open design with large outdoor spaces.

According to the yard, guest enjoyment was at the epicentre of the design, shown in the 30m2 Beach Club and Wellness Centre, featuring a gym, sauna and Turkish steam shower. 12 guests sleep across six guest cabins, with guest accommodation including a VIP bridge-deck cabin. The full-beam owner’s suite covers almost 80m2, and features a large folding balcony and mid-beam sliding doors

Ben Young acted as the representative of the buyer at SYM Superyacht Management. He said, “This is our fifth yacht in a little over a decade for this particular client. Keeping clients happy year on year can be a tough job so we are delighted to receive such fantastic validation.”
