Organisers say preparations for the MYBA Charter Show 2018 are now well underway, with the event set to celebrate its 30-year anniversary.
The MYBA Charter Show, which takes place from April 23 to April 26 at OneOcean Port Vell, Barcelona, provides charter brokers, charter managers and other industry professionals with the opportunity to inspect some of the finest yachts available to charter. Priority is given to boats that are new to the charter market and those that have undergone major refits.
The first yachts accepted by the show in 2018 have been announced, with the 77-metre (253-foot) Legend, 52-metre (171-foot) Deja Too and the 47.25-metre (155-foot) Blush among those due to feature, and details of a returning feature and a brand new initiative for 2018 have also been shared.
The MYBA Superyacht Chef’s Competition returns, with this year’s theme set as ‘Finger Food’. Competing chefs will be tasked with preparing five different dishes (three savoury and two sweet) to impress a panel of judges that include Michelin-starred chef Antonio Mellino, of the famous Quattro Passi restaurant in Nerano, Italy.
The MYBA Charter Show 2018 will also see the introduction of the ‘Best Welcome Onboard’ award, designed to give yacht crew an opportunity to showcase their talents. The judging panel will step aboard each competing yacht and assess crew on their meet and greet skills, awarding the inaugural prize to whichever team provides the best welcome.
MYBA say further announcements about the event will be made in the coming weeks.
