Fortabat Yacht Design, a specialist in luxury sailboat and exploration yacht design, has celebrated its 10-year anniversary this week. Based in Nice on the French Riviera, Fortabat Yacht Design has designed and refitted more than 25 yachts to date.
Run by 37-year-old Alexandre Fortabat, the agency has recently expanded its expertise into yacht conversions. Alexandre helped convert Mystere Shadow, where the 1980s oilrig support vessel was converted into a 50m luxury exploration yacht with a toys garage and rear beach platform. The vessel was nominated as Refit of the Year at the World Superyacht Awards 2012.
Other recent Fortabat Yacht Design projects include the refit of 70m M/Y Reborn and the luxury conversion of a former fisheries patrol vessel into exceptional exploration yacht Enigma XK (previously Norna), recently awarded Conversion of the Year 2014 by World Superyacht Awards.
Ten years ago, Fortabat Yacht Design’s first project Allures, a 100ft luxury catamaran which still stands today as one of the world’s most high-speed luxury catamarans.
