Gill’s technical winter collection

Gill, a technical sailing clothing specialist has released its new winter warming products to include the Thermogrid mid layer collection, Technical Bodywarmer and the Sail Jacket.

The new Thermogrid mid layer collection offers a range of layering options encompassing lightweight yet highly thermal mid layer pieces. The collection boasts a selection of styles including gilets, zip necks and a hooded top.  All items within the range offer a smooth technical face fleece, with a brushed waffle pill resistant interior, providing stretch and warmth with wicking and breathable properties.

The interior fleece grid structure enhances compressibility, airflow and dry time whilst the smooth outer face allows non-binding layering.  Each garment features low bulk panels under the arms and hem for improved fit and to allow greater freedom of movement and increased breathability.

Gill’s new Sail Jacket is made from a waterproof and breathable fabric with fully taped seams. The non-absorbent and quick-drying polyester insulation offers warmth, whilst being lightweight. The Sail Jacket is versatile enough to be worn on and off the boat with additional features including cuff and hem adjustors, drawcord collar adjustment, internal chest pocket and zippered hand pockets.

Gill’s contemporary styled insulated Technical Bodywarmer uses a synthetic lofted water resistant insulation that stays warm when wet, and is protected by a lightweight micro-ripstop shell.

This wind resistant garment can be worn as a layering piece in cold conditions and helps to preserve core body heat. A brushed inner collar offers added comfort and tricot lined zippered hand pockets provide additional warmth. Additional features include a drawcord hem to achieve desired fit and there is also a chest pocket for securing valuable items.

Since its creation by Nick Gill in 1975, Gill has been sharing its passion for the sport of sailing.  Fiercely proud of its British roots Gill still designs and tests all its garments in its Nottingham headquarters.

Prices for the Thermogrid range start at £50 for the men’s (S to XXL) and women’s (10 to 16) Thermogrid Gilet.

The Sail Jacket is available in sizes small to XXL and has a RRP of £145.

The men’s (S to XL) and women’s (10 to 16) Technical Bodywarmer costs £80.
