Golden Yachts deliver 85m flagship O’Ptasia

Greek shipyard Golden Yachts has delivered 85-metre (279-foot) superyacht O’Ptasia, its fleet’s new flagship and one of the 200 largest superyachts ever made.

O’Ptasia had successful sea trials in the Aegean Sea, was launched in April 2018 and is now on her maiden voyage in the Mediterranean. She is offered for charter through Atalanta Golden Yachts starting at €800,000 per week.

Interior and exterior styling comes courtesy of Studio Vafiadis, with naval architecture by N Hellas. She boasts 11 staterooms and an upper-deck owner’s suite (measuring 95m²) with private study, walk-in wardrobes and en-suite facilities. A total of 18 crew cabins – plus a bridge-deck captain’s cabin – ensures there are enough staff for guests to be completely catered to throughout their journeys.

Key features aboard O’Ptasia include a central elevator to all four decks, a foredeck helipad, a 16-person dining table in the main-deck saloon, a gym, a grand beach club with steam room and massage zone and a sun-deck pool.

In the engine room O’Ptasia boasts twin 3,386hp Caterpillar 3516C engines for a maximum speed of 16 knots. Built-in stabilising systems ensure smooth cruising, and a tender garage is home to a number of vehicles, including three Seadoos, a six-metre Novurania catamaran, a 4.4-metre Avon RIB and an eight-metre Chris Craft tender (as well as numerous water toys).

The delivery of O’Ptasia arrives shortly after the launch of O’Mathilde, Golden Yachts’ new 57-metre (187-foot) superyacht due for delivery this summer.
