Groupe Beneteau has announced it has acquired Polish shipyard Delphia Yachts.
The company reports that its Polish subsidiary Ostroda Yachts now holds a majority 80% stake in the company, while Delphia retains 20%.
The acquisition of the yard, which specialises in building yachts measuring between seven and 15 metres in length, was closed on 30th November after being agreed in July.
The move further enhances Group Beneteau’s burgeoning portfolio, which boasts superyacht yard Monte Carlo Yachts, Beneteau, Jeanneau, Lagoon and Prestige.
In a release, chief executive Hervé Gastinel said, “To support its development on the strategic segment for outboard motorboats and small sailing yachts, Groupe Beneteau will be able to capitalize on Delphia Yachts’ industrial capacity and expertise. This acquisition is in line with our long-term strategy for sustainable and profitable growth.”
A statement from Delphia Shipyard added, “As co-owners of a newly established company, we look at our joint future with happiness and optimism. We trust it will ensure a continued stable growth of both the Delphia Yachts boatyards and its sales partners, increasing further the stability of employment and allowing even greater development opportunities to its current and future employees.”
