HdB focuses on the importance of personal accident policies

With a growing interest in the personal accident and illness topic amongst crew members, leading Italian-insurance company HdB S.r.l. has announced that they will be present at the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show and will be available to give captains and crew advice on their insurance matters.

Since this summer, the MLC 2006, the Maritime Labour Convention in charge of establishing the minimum working and living standards for seafarers, has introduced that ships flying the flag of ratifying countries are required to have a P&I policy complying with the relevant MLC regulations.

Safety is vital for insurers and it is for this reason that captains and crew should only collaborate with the best insurance companies on the market.

HdB commented, “Thanks to our collaboration with the London market we are able to propose a comprehensive policy dedicated to captains and crew. We have the possibility to start with a basic cover for accidents that can be extended by including medical expenses, repatriation, travel policy and personal liability. We believe that it is very important that each crew member has a personal accident policy.”

HdB will be present at the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show, from 24th to 27th September. If you have any doubts on insurance matters or need expert advice, please email carola.federico@hdbonline.it to book an appointment.
