Heesen unveils Project MAXIMUS at Monaco Yacht Show

Heesen revealed a new Clifford Denn-designed 83m concept at Monaco Yacht Show, named “Project MAXIMUS”. According to the Dutch yard, Project MAXIMUS is as a hugely flexible platform that offers optimum distribution of both interior and exterior volumes and spaces, achieving a long, low, sleek and narrow vessel that optimises owner experience.

To ensure owner enjoyment is at the centre of the design, the exterior decks stretch the full length of the boat and are optimised for use by the owner and guests. An almost vertical bow enables an extended waterline length, allowing for the crash bulkhead to move forward, and further interior space and volume. In turn, this allows more exterior space at the stern of the vessel, including an impressive pool area, stunning waterfall features and a large bathing platform.

Wide stairs link all external decks, and a cosy covered external lounge/dining area is located just forward of the pool on the Main deck. Meanwhile, aft decks are designed with maximum wind protection while also ensuring for optimal hydrodynamic performance.

The vessel is inspired by Denn’s experience designing commercial passenger vessels for Cunard (QM2), P&O and Viking Ocean Cruise vessels. According to Heesen, a particular detail in Viking Ocean Cruise vessels, that the Wheel house is located forward and under the Passenger decks, has influenced MAXIMUS’ design.

Clifford Denn commented; “When compared with other boats of its size it has an enormous pool, huge external deck areas, and all with the same internal volumes as a normal 83m,” says Denn. “It’s the large boat thinking that puts the Owner’s needs first.”

Project MAXIMUS can accommodate up to five guests, with the option to be configured as 2x VIP and 1x guest by opening linking doors. She also features a private owner’s suite.

The long, narrow shape means Project MAXIMUS will reap the benefits of Heesen’s new ‘shed’, which can house yachts up to 83m LOA.
