One of the world leaders in water sports equipment, Hobie is back at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show 2015 after a brief break of four years. They will return to their former spot, located on Quay Street.
Mal Gray, a Queensland dealer who has been representing Hobie for 24 years commented, “We are excited to be back at Sanctuary Cove. The Promenade was where we first started out, with demos just off the marina. That exposure really got us going, however, our focus moved to our stores, where there’s a boat show every day. Now we’re back at our old stomping ground at Sanctuary Cove and looking forward to it.”
From a background in racing, the Hobie brand developed a range of general-purpose products that are recognised internationally for quality, performance and portability for an active outdoor lifestyle.
Gray continued, “Hobie is the kind of brand everybody has fond memories of. Whether it’s from holidaying at an island resort, or you had one in the garage, for 40 years or more, Hobie has been the name in water sports. Anywhere there is water, owning a Hobie brings membership to an extended family. Hobie owners share common bonds of friendship, similar interests and the enjoyment of the great outdoors.”
Known for their vibrant boat show displays, complete with an assortment of products, tropical theming, raffia hut and branded sails aloft, Hobie will be adjusting its presentation to suit its position at SCIBS while maintaining all the hallmarks of the brand.
Gray concluded, “We plan to have the 2015 models of the kayaks and stand up paddle boards (SUPs) on display, as well as sailing trimarans from Hobie’s Adventure Island range. It will be colourful and exciting, with experts on hand with product knowledge and advice. Queensland is our focus, since our stores are based in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. Sanctuary Cove attracts thousands of visitors from South-East Queensland so it will be highly valuable to us.”
