Iconic Amels arrives at Balk for major winter refit

Balk Shipyard has announced the arrival of 57-metre (180.30-foot) motor yacht Dancing Hare (ex. M/Y Lady Mona K, Lady Ghislaine) at its premises in Holland for an extensive winter refit. 

Delivered by Amels in 1986 to a design by Bannenberg Designs Ltd, Dancing Hare is well overdue for a big refit, considering her last major overhaul was in 1993.

She arrived at the yard in Urk on 28^th October after a six-day cruise from the South of France, with the major winter refit sparked by the new owner’s recent purchase in September 2017.

On Monday 4^th December, the yard announced that Dancing Hare was being hauled out and shunted into the yard’s biggest refit hall.

Daan Balk, CEO of Balk Shipyard explained that the yard was pleased to have her; he said, “We are excited to have such an iconic yacht as Dancing Hare with us. We feel honoured and proud to be selected and trusted to work on a revolutionary yacht and to get her in the finest shape possible with nowadays technology and luxury.”

The yacht is estimated for relaunch in 2018, during Europe’s summer months.
