IGY Marinas has announced it will roll out a new community service initiative for 2016 through its international marina network.
According to the brand, ’Inspire Giving through You’ will be focused on community-based initiatives in destinations where marinas are operated by the company. IGY’s objective is to partner with a non-profit organisation to deliver a community-focused event where IGY associates, customers and partners can make a difference.
The project will launch over two dates in 2016, with multiple events across a variety of destinations. The first of these events will be held on 20th February 2016, for Caribbean and Latin American communities which surround a number of IGY marinas, including Yacht Club at Isle de Sol in St. Maarten and Red Frog Beach Marina in Panama.
The second set of events will be held on 11th June 2016, for communities surrounding IGY Marinas in the United States and the Bahamas. These will include North Cove Marina in Manhattan, New York and Newport Yacht Club & Marina in Newport, New Jersey.
Tom Mukamal, chief executive officer at IGY Marinas was enthusiastic about the project and commented, “Guests and boaters come to our marinas to enjoy the destinations, local cultures and attractions. We have always included community service into our business practices, and now we have an ambitious plan to embark on our 2016 Community Outreach Project to give back to the local destinations in which we live and work.
“It is important to show our communities and the world the depth of IGY’s collective spirit and commitment to our valued destinations. We hope this call to action serves as a model for the marina industry and an inspiration to others.”
