Naval architect Ivan Erdevicki has revealed his latest superyacht concept, a 40m explorer yacht called ER130.
Designed to offer a modern twist on the expedition yacht format, ER130 features contemporary exterior styling, with a reverse-angled prow and vast expanses of glass that connect the main deck with the upper deck.
With a beam of 8.3 metres and a draught of 1.89 metres, this tri-deck yacht design features a steel displacement hull and an aluminium superstructure.
Key features on board include a full-beam main deck owner’s cabin, complete with an on-board office, with his-and-hers en suite facilities in the bow. Further guest accommodation is provided on the lower deck, which is accessed via a spiral staircase.
Back aft the open plan saloon features a formal dining area with seating for 10 guests and a more relaxed lounge area with port and starboard sofas, a central C-shaped settee and a full bar. Al fresco relaxation spaces include the spacious aft cockpit and the superyacht sundeck, complete with three sun loungers and a shaded skylounge.
The engine installation has not yet been disclosed, but the designer adds that the hull has been designed to achieve a maximum speed of 15 knots.
Based in Vancouver, Erdevicki is the founder of ER Yacht Design, whose previous credits include the 47m Georgetown motor yacht, Aqua Sante. Current projects under development at the studio include the 46m Project Gotham, which is in build at Dutch yard Icon Yachts ahead of a planned 2019 completion date.
