IYC (International Yacht Collection) has announced that David Nichols has sold the 130’ (39.62m) M/Y Tranquility. Launched in 1995 by Hatteras Yachts, the exceptionally spacious 130-foot tri-deck yacht had an asking price of $4,390,000, having previously had a major refit in 2006/2007.
The yacht was listed for sale by both Northrop and Johnson and Bradford Marine, and the announcement of the sale was made on 22nd May, 2014.
As well as a major refit in 2006/2007 to service which included an upgradeto the vessel’s mechanical systems, another overall aesthetic, electronics and exterior refurbishment was carried out in 2011.
The award-winning design team of Claudette Bonville & Associates designed a brand new, earth-toned interior including new interior wall coverings and soft-goods, re-veneering the warm cherry wood finishes, and adding all new carpeting, drapes, and bedspreads. The sky lounge was completely remodelled with a new wet bar and lounge area featuring clever placement of a custom-fabricated privacy door and pull-out sofa-bed for use as an extra guest accommodation.
Additional 2006/2007 upgrades included modernising the galley, adding teak decking to the exterior sitting area, aft deck and swim platform, notably elevating the elegance of the yacht’s visual appeal and the functionality of these areas.
