Jongert and Vripack partner on 47m superyacht project

Following the unsuccessful takeover attempt of the Jongert shipyard last year, the yacht builder has announced that it is working on a new 47m motor yacht with design studio Vripack

Having since been acquired by a private investor, the new project will get underway at the Jongert shipyard in the coming months, with an expected build period of just over 24 months.

Brokered by Swell Yachting, ‘Revolution’ has evolved from Vripack’s existing ‘Flow’ concept, with heavy customisation and development input from her new owner.

Revolution has been customised for long-range cruising, with space planning, on-board comfort and technical integrity very much at the heart of the design.

She has a seven-stateroom layout, with notable features including a six-metre swimming pool and eight-metre limousine tender. Her owner’s suite is located on the bridge deck, with a sports bar and gym above. The décor inside reflects the family’s active lifestyle.

Marnix J. Hoekstra, creative director at Vripack said, “At 47 metres [and] just under 500GT, she boasts no less than seven staterooms and six crew cabins, a six-metre swimming pool, eight-metre limo tender and 28sqm gym. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Her technical backbone is the crème de la crème giving her outstanding expedition capability in terms of safety, reliability, comfort and longevity. More than one part hasn’t even been invented yet.

“When you walk through the interior everything is where you expect it to be, yet she has an unconventional layout. Her smooth interior layout is balanced with a masculine layering exterior design. When you take a piece of paper in your hand, fold and cut it and place pieces on top of each other you get the effect we created.

“The visual disconnection between the various surfaces reveals a continuous champagne golden-lit infinite line, making Revolution stand out from the crowd also at night time when you sail up with the limo from a romantic dinner on shore.”

Following the ‘holistic signature’ of the Vripack studio, it announced that the Jongert yard team and Vripack engineers have together created a diesel-electric drive train that allows for an engine room that is up to 50% smaller than normal, due to “the space efficiency of electrical drives and electrical pods” by Veth Propulsion. According to Vripack, these are currently in design with Veth.

Another exciting innovation includes her line-free mooring system, which “will allow the yacht to be docked without any mooring line hooked or anchor dropped”, according to Marnix.
