KNS, a global designer, manufacturer and integrator of marine communication systems, has been awarded Ka-band type approval from global satellite operator, Avanti Communications.
Avanti Communications serves customers in Europe, Middle East and Africa, via its network consisting of two high throughput satellites in orbit, called HYLAS 1 and HYLAS 2; a multiband satellite called Artemis and a fourth satellite in construction called HYLAS 3. Avanti owns an international fiber network connecting data centers in several countries, with GEO satellite network spectrum filings in the ITU master register for Ka band at 33.5° West and 31.0° East and for Ka, Ku, S and L-band at 21.5° East.
KNS will be deploying its next generation SuperTrack Z10MK3-KA antenna to new and existing customers from today.
Noah Chung, director of KNS said, “Our relationship with Avanti has enabled us to open up new regional markets- providing an even better service to our customers. Avanti’s Ka-band satellites provide the high throughput and flexibility needed to support a wide range of enterprise applications in a variety of industry sectors. As a result, we are now able to target specific locations as diverse as Scotland and Northern Africa - who have very specific needs to support the Oil & Gas Industry.”
In order to meet Avanti’s commitment to service quality, terminals must be compliant to directives ECC/DEC/ (06)) 3), EN 301 549 and for mobile platforms: EN 303-978. Avanti completed an extensive capability report on KNS SuperTrack Z10MK3-KA antenna. This detailed testing proved compliance to expected performance levels and inter-operation with services on the Avanti fleet.
KNS looks forward to a long relationship with Avanti Communications, providing quality satellite communication services to both new and existing customers.
