The UK’s largest independent marine safety equipment supplier, Ocean Safety, has been appointed as UK distributor for the Odeo Laser Flare, a powerful laser beam alternative to the traditional red pyrotechnic hand-held distress flare.
The Odeo Flare is similar in size to traditional flares but uses battery powered lasers. It will also ‘burn’ or transmit for a much longer period, around five hours at full illumination. The Odeo Flare is visible from all directions simultaneously, and projects over the full hemisphere. Its electronic circuitry is designed for optimum visibility.
The Odeo Flare is safe when switched off because no pyrotechnics are used. The product can also be carried in baggage on flights, RIBs, small aircraft and all types of vessels, due to the high power lithium iron-disulphide cell batteries it uses.
The Odeo Flare is designed to work in the challenging environments found at sea, is completely waterproof and floats if dropped overboard.
The Odeo Flare™ has already been recognised in the marine industry for its strengths. At the June Seawork exhibition, the hand-held laser safety flare won both the Innovation Award in the safety product category and was voted overall winner in the Seawork Spirit of Innovation Awards.
Made from salt water resistant materials, the Odeo Flare™ has a seven-year shelf life, and is manufactured in Great Britain.
The flare has a retail price of £144.00 including VAT. For further information visit www.oceansafety.com
