Yachting Pages has put several of the leading safety cases (and other associated products) to the test. The objective: to ascertain how each product performs and determine which one is best equipped to safely contain a lithium battery-induced fire.
According to Lumenautica there has been an increase in the amount of yachts asking if their existing illuminated or polished stainless steel lettering can be repaired, re-polished or illuminated correctly. In response to this Lumenautica have announced that they now undertake all aspects of illuminated yacht sign refurbishment and repair.
This increase in the demand for refurbishment comes from the original work being performed at a low standard. Common faults include ,poorly polished ‘stainless steel’ lettering rusting, non-marine grade materials supplied, incorrectly installed LED or fibre optic illumination or the letters simply aren’t finished to a superyacht standard.
In most cases the clients are not happy with the integrated illumination within the letters, be it ‘spotted effects’ ‘high & low lights’, to dull or even blown LEDs due to water ingress or overheating.
As budgets may not stretch to a complete new name design and manufacture, Lumenautica can preserve the most expensive part, the ‘polished stainless steel’ front letter and re-machine the backing acrylic letters and correctly install either LED or Fibre optic illumination.
Lumenautica can carry out all aspects of repair work including,
- Re-polishing stainless steel yacht letters to superyacht standard / finish
- Remaking of backing letters from correct material and finish
- Re spraying of tarnished and blistered painted yacht letters
- Complete illumination overhaul, LED or fibre optic yacht name boards
- Replace fittings and power supply control units
