Lurssen’s M/Y Orchid completes sea trials

Built by Lurssen, 91m superyacht Orchid has successfully completed her sea trials in the Baltic Sea under ‘perfect weather conditions’. Designed by Reymond Langton Design, luxury motor yacht Orchid is scheduled for delivery in late summer 2015.

M/Y Orchid has been built for private ownership and will head to Norway for her maiden voyage and for a crew training trip. From there, she is expected to make her way from Europe across the Atlantic to Florida, the Bahamas and the Eastern Caribbean islands in the winter season.

The team at Y.CO, who coordinated the build throughout, will continue to work closely with her crew over the final months before delivery to prepare the yacht for operational use.

Luxury yacht Orchid features a feminine structure, yet boasts strong, sculptured surfaces defined by sharp lines. She was officially launched in April earlier this year, from Lurssen’s floating dock, 29 months after her keel was laid and 19 months after her technical launch in 2013.

Established in 2001 by duo Pascale Reymond and Andrew Langton, Reymond Langton Design has previously worked with luxury motor yachts Kismet, Serene, Valerie and Ester III.
