Luxury transport in the French Riviera with SL Cannes

Many superyacht owners and guests regularly choose luxury cars and limousines as their preferred mode of transport in the French Riviera. Yachting Pages interviewed Stephane Lambert, manager of SL Cannes, a leading chauffeur and limousine company on the French Riviera, to find out how luxury travel companies operate in the area and what services they can provide.

When was the company founded?

SL Cannes was founded in 2009, when I bought the company I had worked for, for five years.

What sets you apart from your competitors?

For me the limousine service should be just like the yachts we work with, have a high quality service range and listen to each customer’s needs and requirements: Vehicles must be perfectly clean, have multilingual drivers who know the area very well and can be attentive to the customers.

As well as offering a limousine service, we often work with captains on board yachts to provide a concierge service that will facilitate their various requirements, including restaurant reservations, local clubs, hotels, etc…  Our relationship with local businesses and captains enables us to offer a professional and efficient service.

I worked for two years on yachts, before I worked 10 years at a luxury hotel on the French Riviera. Now, I have a solid experience with high-end clientele; I know how to identify the needs of captains and people who charter superyachts.

What is new for your business this year?

This year we renewed our vehicle fleet, including the purchase of the new Mercedes S class and the new Mercedes Vans Class V, now giving us a total of seven vehicles.

Were you affected by the recession?

We can’t complain, but it's more difficult than before. Our service is very good, for years our customers have been very loyal so we haven’t suffered too much.

What is the most unusual request you’ve received?

We had a yacht charter with six couples on board and they ordered six Rolls Royce’s for four days; but of course we provided the service.

What are your most popular vehicles?

Mercedes vans are very successful as guests enjoy travelling together in the same vehicle. The Mercedes S Class is also ordered by lots of people. Though, we can provide all types of vehicles.

What different routes do you offer customers?

We drive people to Cannes, Antibes, Nice, Monaco and more. We can offer specialist routes and tours for all these destinations.

What boat shows are you attending?

I will visit Cannes Yachting Festival (9^th to 14^th September), Monaco Yacht Show (24^th to 27^th September) and Fort Lauderdale Boat Show (30^th October to 3^rd November) as a visitor.

All my customers are fabulous.
