Marina d’Arechi experiences boom in berth bookings and enquiries

Marina d’Arechi has reported a boom in berth bookings and enquiries, attracting a larger scope of berth visitors and longer-stay berth holders to the facility in Salerno on the Amalfi coast.

In a recent survey carried out by the Marina d’Arechi management team, leisure-boat owners, captains and crew reported the four main reasons to visit the marina as being its geographical position (100%), staff courtesy and professionalism (85%), the care of vessels and services provided (90%), and the aesthetics of the marina (88%).

Agostino Galozzi, chairman at Gallozzi Group S.p.A., said, “Marina d’Arechi, the tourist port of Salerno has increased by over 70% year on year, which has seen an influx of VIP visitors often making use of the 5* marina facilities at Marina d’Arechi. More specifically, the transitory moorings have increased by 70.08% in 2017 against summer 2016. Permanent berths have also performed well, with an increase of 21.71% according to this summer’s figures. There is certainly great excitement to what the 2018 year will achieve!”

The marina has been busy creating new opportunities for the marina retail area, including services to tourists choosing to visit the Marina Resort, where VAT is set at only 10% rather than 22%.

Thirteen new shops will make the ‘shopping centre’; a vital part of the marina where guests will be able to find everything they may need from nautical clothing, accessories, charter services, brokering, car rental and a special ‘Cambusa point’, dedicated to local specialities from the Campania region. A unique partnership with the Centri Verrengia allowing guests at Marina d’Arechi to undergo medical treatment – general medicine, specialist examinations, diagnosis, clinical analysis and more or, on request and where possible, on board their own vessels in the marina.

Marina d’Arechi anticipates a successful 2018 also, starting at the London International Boat Show on Stand WE020 from 10th  to 14th January at the London ExCeLCentre.

During the show, the marina is hoping to encourage more UK boaters to the 1,000 berth marina, which accommodates yachts from 10 to 100 metres (33 to 328 feet) in length.

As such it will offer an exclusive ‘price-match’ berthing offer available to UK boaters only, to relocate their boat from the UK to Italy, with Marina d’Arechi matching the UK annual berthing fee with a comparable berth at Marina d’Arechi.

Galozzi continued, “There continues to be great interest from UK boat owners wishing to explore more of the Italian coastline and who favour the warmth, charm and friendliness of Italy.

“We reach the start of 2018 having successfully completed construction of the port, which is just 26 nautical miles from Capri, 16 nautical miles from Positano and the other pearls of the Amalfi Coast. The last pontoon has been completed with 37 further berths and a control tower. We are continuing to see great international interest from boat owners wishing to visit and stay at Marina d’Arechi and we are keen to further increase our reach for more boat owners to visit us throughout the 2018 year!”
