Marine Group Boat Works honoured

Diego-based Marine Group Boat Works, LLC is featured in the 2^nd annual Inc. Hire Power Awards, recognising the private businesses that have generated the most jobs in the past three years.

Todd Roberts, vice president of Marine Group Boat Works, said “With the highly specialized work we do custom building and refitting boats all year round, it was refreshing to be recognized by an entity outside of our industry. We hope this award will also give credibility and attention to the impact the marine industry has on our economy.”

Marine Group Boat Works generated 56 jobs from January 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013, placing it among the top 20 private business job creators within the consumer products and services industry, also placing it among the top 100 private business job creators in the country.

Eric Schurenberg, editor-in-chief of Inc commented, “For the second year in a row, we are pleased to recognize the employers who are putting Americans back to work for a second time. The Hire Power Awards are the only awards that single out job creators. We think it’s fitting to pay tribute to company founders not just for their business prowess but also for their immense contribution to the welfare of U.S. workers and the vitality of the U.S. economy.” 

Marine Group Boat Works is among the 437 private growth companies that are Hire Power Awards honorees, leading the way in creating more American jobs. While the honorees are found across the country in 25 categories, industries with the most Hire Power companies include health, financial services, software, human resources and IT services.

An award ceremony, sponsored by Bank of America Merrill Lynch, took place on November 12, 2013 in San Francisco.
