Monaco-based security system suppliers MARSS has signed contracts to retrofit its NiDAR technology onto two superyachts.
The innovative technology, which has become increasingly popular in the past 12 months, creates a 360-degree bubble around a yacht with the use of radars and infrared cameras that detect any underwater or aerial activity that could potentially have an impact on the vessel.
It combines high-spec sensors, cameras and satellite data to provide an efficient and effective layer of additional security for all yachts and land-based defence installations.
MARSS says the system tracks both known and unknown objects and assesses their threat level, delivering alerts to those on-board if necessary.
The two new contracts add to the company’s ever-expanding portfolio of maritime projects, bringing up the number of superyachts, military and commercial vessels with NiDAR technology to 29.
