In the realm of maritime luxury, the quest to offer yacht charter guests the perfect night's sleep has become an art form, one which luxury bed and linen supplier, CC Design, has fully committed to.
Monaco Marine has confirmed significant investment in a new maintenance and refit shipyard dedicated to superyachts between 80 and 130 metres in length.
The firm is hoping to provide services for the growing number of super-sized vessels, with 40 refits per year expected to be needed by the market as it stands – not including additional builds each year. Monaco Marine is aiming to make further inroads in this sector with high-end technical facilities available for this size range on the French Riviera for the first time.
The new site, located at Bassin Mirabeau in France’s Grand Port Maritime de Marseille, will enjoy a $50 million investment over the coming years. The port has a large draught for even the largest superyachts and boasts easy access all year round.
Monaco Marine’s new yard will be able to work on up to four superyachts concurrently, with space for another on the new 6000-tonne yacht lift and another on an accessible platform if needed. There will be specific equipment for propulsion, transmission and motor repairs that are required, as well as a 50,000-square-metre platform adjacent to a two-storey hub featuring workshops, offices and crew lounges.
Monaco Marine is a network of seven shipyards and a marina located along the French Riviera dedicated to yachts and superyachts. The company estimates that its new site will be open by 2022.
